My business partner (Morgan West) and I both have our CPA’s and have worked heavily in Accounting. I have my bachelors in economics and my masters in accounting while Morgan has her bachelors in accounting and her MBA. In our careers we have seen first hand how software expenses get out of line quickly when not properly tracked. So many products in the marketplace are geared towards larger organizations that can afford to spend $10K+ a month on implementing a solution to help with this. softimise is an affordable product for small to medium sized organizations to help track software licenses and budget for them annually. Our product is designed to give unlimited licenses so your entire organization can assist in adding licenses they use and what the cost and payment method is. We have found so many situations where one person was tasked with owning the tracking of licenses and this tends to usually be in a spreadsheet. The problem with this is it is hard to keep updated and when someone leaves the organization most often the right people are not informed to make sure that license is cancelled. This leads to overspending and waste. softimise allows everyone in the company to see what software the company has licenses for and who to contact if they need a license. When someone is offboarded softimise provides a list of all software that employee had access to and creates an action to have those licenses removed or given to someone else. We have also added an approval workflow in softimise. This allows our customers to have their employees submit a request to purchase a license (if the company has a license for this it notifes them that the company already has this and to get in contact with the owner of the software). If the company doesn’t have a license it goes through a workflow for approval and if approved it gets added to the list and the employee has record of it being approved. Our goal is to assist organizations in creating operational efficiencies in this tough market and make sure you are not wasting money on software no one is using (or worse are double or even triple paying for). We also wanted to offer a product that was easy to get started with.
