I’m a freelance ecological designer and urban agriculture consultant in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I grow trees for community projects, teach plant propagation and beekeeping courses, and tend hives for local businesses.
Nature brings up all kinds of amazing benefits, but we can also partner with and help nature. I believe that cities are a force of nature and can be some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet.
Urban Tree Nursery (Forest City Plants)
I grow thousands of uncommon local tree varieties and trial new species for a changing climate. I have extensive experience helping schools and community gardens plant trees and install mini orchards and food forests. I am presently working on Shrubscriber, a tool to crowdfund community tree planting to increase food security and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
Beekeeping (Beecentric Hive)
I design and build bee-centred beehives for conscientious small-scale beekeepers across Canada. Each spring and fall, I teach an online beekeeping certificate course.
