We publish short, dated findings about how small business websites get found and used: on Google, on Google Maps, on social media and in AI assistants like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Each one ends with something you can actually do about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our view is simple: your website should work as hard as you do. Most advice about search is written for marketers. Ours is written for the person running the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who publishes Diib Start<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Diib Start is published by diib Inc., the company behind diib, a dashboard that shows small business owners how their website is doing and what to fix. Diib Start articles are written and reviewed by the diib team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where the data comes from<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Most Diib Start articles are based on data from websites whose owners have connected them to diib. That includes sources like Google Analytics and Google Business Profile, along with third-party data on which other websites link to a site. We use that data only in aggregate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We never name, describe or identify an individual business, website or customer.<\/li><li>We don&#8217;t publish a figure based on fewer than 20 websites. Most of our findings cover far more.<\/li><li>Each article states the time period it covers, how many websites it&#8217;s based on, and what it&#8217;s compared against.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Our data reflects businesses that use diib, not every business. When an article relies on an outside source, such as an announcement from Google, we link to that source directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our editorial standards<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>We report what the data shows, and say what it doesn&#8217;t.<\/strong> Two numbers moving together doesn&#8217;t prove one causes the other. Every article includes a section on its limits.<\/li><li><strong>We don&#8217;t promise results.<\/strong> No one can guarantee rankings or traffic, and we won&#8217;t pretend to.<\/li><li><strong>Plain English.<\/strong> We explain terms like SEO (search engine optimization) and AEO (answer engine optimization) when we use them.<\/li><li><strong>Dated and updated.<\/strong> Every article shows when it was published. If we update one, we show the updated date.<\/li><li><strong>No paid placement.<\/strong> Diib Start articles are not sponsored, and no business pays to appear in them.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Corrections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you think we got something wrong, email <a href=\"mailto:support@diib.com\">support@diib.com<\/a> with the article&#8217;s link and what you think is incorrect.
