The new AI Visibility check runs the searches your customers run, reads the AI answers and gives you a score for how often you show up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why we built it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AI answers now sit between many customers and your website. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2025\/07\/22\/google-users-are-less-likely-to-click-on-links-when-an-ai-summary-appears-in-the-results\/\">Pew Research Center study<\/a> of 68,879 Google searches by 900 U.S. adults in March 2025, about 18% produced an AI summary. People who saw one clicked a regular search result in 8% of visits, versus 15% when no summary appeared. They clicked a link inside the summary in just 1% of visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The audience keeps growing. In its <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/company-news\/inside-google\/message-ceo\/alphabet-earnings-q2-2026\/\">July 2026 earnings remarks<\/a>, Google said AI Mode had passed 1 billion monthly active users and the Gemini app had 950 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the check does<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Google AI Overviews.<\/strong> Runs up to 12 Google searches (15 on Pro) from your city, written from the services you offer, and checks whether the AI answer cites your site.<\/li><li><strong>ChatGPT and Gemini.<\/strong> Asks 8 questions the way a customer would and shows whether the answers name your business.<\/li><li><strong>Your business name.<\/strong> Runs 2 searches for your name to see whether Google&#8217;s AI points people to you.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your score counts only the searches where Google showed an AI answer. Cited in 3 of 9 means a score of 33%. Pro adds which sites won the searches you lost, specific fixes for your pages and a brief you can send your web designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each report is a snapshot. AI answers change day to day, and no tool can guarantee a citation.
