Glossary: Keywords

Keywords are words and phrases that users type into search engines (like Google) to find information on a particular topic. Keywords are the building blocks of SEO and are one of the keys to ranking higher on Google. Your total number of keywords means the number of keywords you have have rank in the Top 100 in Google.

So let’s say you’re have a mobile carpet cleaning business bases out of Kansas City. Some keywords you might rank for (or want to rank for) could be: mobile carpet cleaning, shampoo carpet cleaning, carpet clean Kansas City, carpet cleaning services, or carpet restorations.

If you sell handmade pet products, you might target keywords like: all natural dog products, natural pet products, handmade dog harness, or organic puppy shampoo.
