I’ve been working with WordPress for over a decade, and involved with digital marketing and SEO for over 7 years. I’ve learned a lot, made plenty of mistakes, and while there are almost certainly gurus out there that know a whole lot more than I do, I believe that I’ve achieved expert status, too.

I’ve worked freelance for 12+ years in a range of roles, from content writing to SEO manager. Working freelance has enabled me to work from home and set my own schedule – meaning that I’ve been able to keep on working even when I was diagnosed with a serious autoimmune disease.

I enjoy freelance work, and it’s been a wonderful experience that’s taught me a huge amount about marketing. But, as my health has deteriorated, I’ve started planning ahead, for the inevitable time when I won’t be able to continue working 40-hour weeks for clients around the world.

I’ve had encounters with affiliate marketing in the past, but it was while watching YouTube in the middle of the night, during a period of relentless insomnia, that I realized that the blog that I’d started but never really done much with could be the answer to my fears about my finances in the future.

WP Web Whizz is the first website of my own that I’ve really invested in, but I really enjoy sharing my knowledge free of charge, helping others get started with WordPress, blogging, and marketing. My goal is to share the info that I wish someone had told me when I was starting out!

While I’m open about having affiliate links on WP Web Whizz, one of my guiding principles is that I’ll never recommend a product that I’ve not personally tested. Plus, I’ll always tell the truth about my experience with products and services, no matter what commission is on offer. This is something I’ll never compromise on – unlike some of the giants of affiliate marketing who frequently gloss over the bad points of a product or service, just to get a sale.

You can trust my reviews and recommendations. I test software and services thoroughly, with a checklist that ensures that everything that matters gets fully tested, with no exceptions. I don’t get paid to write reviews, nor will I be swayed by financial incentives to present a product or service more favorably than it should be.

The bottom line is, if I’m not happy to continue using a product myself, then I won’t recommend it.
