Shortly after, LaKesha and her husband learned that building their family would be much more involved than imagined. For those who have received similar news, LaKesha understands the stress, the overwhelming feelings, and the sense of hopelessness brought on by fertility challenges. She didn&#8217;t understand all the costs associated with the surgeries, procedures, injections, and labs required for her to conceive.<\/p>\n<p>Although $8 billion is spent on fertility care, only 10% of those needing treatment receive it. This means that 90% of those requiring fertility treatment do not seek it. Fertility treatment is expensive and most states don\u2019t require insurance coverage. In addition, families pursuing adoption face costs of up to $45k or more.
