Our mission is to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ by promoting devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, especially through her Rosary, to help the faithful grow in their love of the Lord, the Blessed Mother, the Rosary and the Church.<\/p>\n
Founded by the Dominican friars, the Rosary Center serves as the local headquarters of the global Rosary Confraternity, providing numerous resources to help the faithful grow in their love of our Lord, the Blessed Mother, the Rosary and the Catholic Church.<\/p>\n
Pope Saint John Paul the Great declared the Rosary his favorite prayer, a \u201cprayer for peace and for the family.\u201d In 2008, Pope Benedict XVI said \u201cwithout a doubt, this one of the most eloquent signs of love that the young generation nourish for Jesus and His Mother, Mary\u2026this prayer helps to put Christ at the center.\u201d Pope Francis described the Rosary as \u201ca prayer that always accompanies me; it is also the prayer of the ordinary people and the Saints\u2026it is a prayer from my heart.\u201d Pope Leo XIV recently stated \u201cIn this Marian month, I would like to reiterate the invitation of the Virgin of Fatima: \u2018pray the Rosary every day for peace,\u2019 \u201d he said to Portuguese-speaking pilgrims. \u201cTogether with Mary, we ask that men not close themselves to this gift of God and that they disarm their hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Dominican Friars of the Province of the Most Holy Name of Jesus (western United States of America), formed by our vowed life of prayer, study and community, preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of souls. Since the 13th century, we have been entrusted by Our Lady to promote her Most Holy Rosary.<\/p>\n
For 800 years the mission of the Order of Preachers has been to proclaim the Gospel to every corner of the world. We do this for one simple reason: that every soul may come to know and love Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
It was for this reason that St. Dominic de Guzman founded the Order of Preachers in 1216. Traveling through Spain and southern France with the Bishop of Osma, he encountered many confused people who believed that the physical world was evil, and created by an evil god. Dominic saw the need for good preachers who could explain the truth of the Catholic faith and reconcile those who had fallen away.<\/p>\n
Today the Dominican Friars engage in a number of academic, pastoral and missionary apostolates around the world, including the work of the Rosary Center.<\/p>\n
