Founded by Dr. Victoria Cuore, a survivor of brutal domestic violence, countless court battles, and over 100 surgeries, A Contagious Smile began as a deeply personal mission \u2014 a lifeline for those who felt as alone and overlooked as Victoria once did. After surviving physical trauma that required full facial reconstruction, spinal operations, and the eventual amputation of her arm, Victoria refused to let her story end in silence. She took the pain, the injustice, and the isolation \u2014 and built something revolutionary.<\/p>\n
Today, A Contagious Smile is a globally recognized trauma-informed platform, offering free and low-cost courses, advocacy, support groups, and customized resources to a wide spectrum of individuals who are often left behind: survivors of abuse, special needs families, veterans, children facing medical challenges, and those in recovery.<\/p>\n

Founder Story \u2013 The Fire Behind the Smile
\nDr. Victoria Cuore is more than a founder \u2014 she is the embodiment of the word \u201csurvivor.\u201d After enduring years of unthinkable abuse, she nearly lost her life. The violence left her physically shattered \u2014 her face broken, her spine compromised, her arm eventually amputated. She lost her hearing and endured surgeries that most wouldn\u2019t survive once, let alone more than 100 times. And yet, through it all, she chose not to crumble \u2014 she decided to rise.<\/p>\n
She rebuilt her life from the ground up while raising a daughter with complex medical needs, who herself has undergone over 50 surgeries and once lived in the ICU for over five weeks. Victoria\u2019s husband, Michael, a veteran and former law enforcement officer, stood beside her, not just as a partner but as a protector and believer in her vision.<\/p>\n
Together, they have built A Contagious Smile with one rule: No one gets turned away because they can\u2019t pay.<\/p>\n
