ALEX SEBBY \u2013 FOUNDER OF WORDS OF VETERANS<\/p>\n
Alex K. Sebby is a third-generation U.S. Veteran. At just seventeen years old, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps before graduating from high school in Minot, North Dakota. He was an honor graduate from Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego, California, and went on to complete Marine Combat Training. Following that, he attended The Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Fort George G. Meade in Maryland.<\/p>\n
During his service, Alex held the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 4611, Combat Illustrator. These specialists create both 2D and 3D visual products that support briefings, training, investigations, and more. He received an honorable discharge in July 2003, just a few months after the invasion of Iraq.<\/p>\n
Alex then earned a Bachelor of Digital Media with Honors and later completed a Master\u2019s Degree in Journalism. He worked for a non-profit and led a 3D Architectural Imaging Studio. Over the next decade, he took on various roles in five different federal government agencies. Throughout it all, Alex remained grateful for the values and discipline instilled by the U.S. military.<\/p>\n
Many Veterans face lasting challenges after their time in service. Alex believes it\u2019s our collective responsibility to support them and ensure they receive the care and opportunities they deserve. U.S. Veterans and their families have given so much\u2014and they should never be forgotten.<\/p>\n
Alex Sebby: Championing the Veteran Community<\/p>\n
One of the most personal and difficult chapters in Alex\u2019s journey as a U.S. Veteran has been witnessing his younger brother Max Sebby\u2019s decade-long struggle with a traumatic brain injury, sustained while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Max now lives at a long-term care facility for brain injuries in Maryland and is supported by a strong network of family and friends.<\/p>\n
This experience has shaped Alex\u2019s mission: to extend that same level of support to U.S. Veterans across the country. Through Words of Veterans, Alex is working to grow a global newsletter community of over a million subscribers. His vision is to strengthen the bonds between Active Duty service members, Veterans, and civilians in the United States of America.<\/p>\n
