From the rural village of Killearn, just north of Glasgow, Scotland and a stone\u2019s throw from the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, the couple share a passion for Scotland and its heritage, with plaid tartan at its core. With over 125 years in the tailoring business in Scotland, generations of The Docherty family have gained invaluable experience and customer service providing garments of excellent craftsmanship and quality.<\/p>\n

Royal & Plaid is the latest conception to this family\u2019s long tailoring heritage and what better way to make a statement on the high street or to electrify a special event than to wear Royal & Plaid, a luxury collection of Scottish plaid tartan fashionwear.<\/p>\n

Introducing our creative director Angela Docherty. Born in Scotland with a love of fashion, Angela designs the timeless and elegant Royal & Plaid Highland Wear clothing range. \u2018Ready to wear\u2019 collections are the key offering for a range of social venues whether that be at a wedding, with friends at the pub or on the golf course or supporting your national team at sporting occasions at football or rugby venues.<\/p>\n

As direct descendants of the worlds most famous poet through Robert Burn’s first born child, Elizabeth Burns, the Docherty family are proud of their Scottish heritage.<\/p>\n

Robert Burns would become an icon of his time \u2013 producing inspirational songs and poems that would leave a lasting legacy around the world.
