Initially established in 2006 as Axell Eames Funeral Services, and with a change of name in 2020 to Wealden Funeral Services, we have been serving the people of Wealden for 20 years as the same family-owned independent funeral service. Since its inception, we have been members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and adhered to their stringent code of conduct. Every inspection that has been performed to ensure we meet the criteria has been passed without any negative comment or advisory. We have also recently been checked by the Environmental Health Department on behalf of the government.<\/p>\n
While we primarily use our local crematorium in Horam (Wealden Crematorium), we also work with and hold regular ceremonies with Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells, and Hasting\u2019s crematoriums.<\/p>\n

Direct to Cremation: We call this the Ashdown Cremation. This is a simple farewell. We will collect your loved one from their home, hospital, or hospice, guide you through the formal forms, and arrange a cremation for you before collecting the ashes for return. No service is held at the crematorium; we typically use the wonderful Wealden Crematorium.<\/p>\n
Standard Cremation: A fixed-price cremation in your choice of Wealden, Eastbourne or Tunbridge Wells Crematoria, which includes all of the options of the Direct Cremation but adds the service in the crematorium, use of our funeral hearse to transport your loved one, care from collection to the cremation date in our facilities, and supply of all staff to ensure that the cremation goes smoothly on the day (funeral director, pull bearers and celebrant\/vicar).<\/p>\n
Personalised Cremation: We can personalise the ceremony to meet your requirements and give your loved one the perfect send-off. As specialists in all types of funeral cars, we can provide standard hearse, tractors and trailers, motorcycles, American trucks or any other form of transport you wish. We can arrange for services to be held in country houses, public houses, or any venue registered for weddings. With our personalised service, there is no limit.<\/p>\n

As an introducer to some of the best funeral plans available, we can provide you with a pre-paid funeral plan to meet your requirements at a price that may surprise you and with the good option of spreading the cost over many years.
