Walks with my dog, Mabel, were a nightmare! A little beagle mix with a strong nose – she’d pull me from scent to scent, hurting my back and frustrating me to no end until I created Pawsitive Strides! This is my 5 Step signature program.

We get dogs with all these big plans in mind: the beach, camping, afternoons on a patio with friends! Then our pups, with minds and noses of their own, start pulling on leash, lunging toward other dogs and people and being a general embarrassment to us. So we leave them at home more often, feeling guilty but at least we don’t have to deal with the whirlwind that is controling that beast in public!

This is where I come in! I give you, the human, the skills and tools you need to feel more comfortable walking your dog. You’ll feel less anxious because you won’t need to worry about getting pulled down any more. You’ll feel more confident in your abilities to manage your dog.

Join a community of Pawsitive Strides members from all around the world! There’s an online group option as well as private in-person services available in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I am also passionate about mental health and wellness and had to figure out a way to incorpoarte that in my dog training business. I live with a physical disability and am neurodivergent (ADHD) and am very open and honest with my clients and students about this.

I created an initiative, called The Pet Project, and began working with a young dog to become a therapy dog and offer support an organization that breaks down barriers to employment for people with disabilities. After passing our test together we became a team that visited the office twice a week!

Currently, The Pet Project is expanding their visiting service to mental health events at high schools, various charities and non-profit organizations in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I have also developed a ceritfication program for people interested in starting their own professional dog walking business, Pawsitive Strides Pro. This innovative new program has caught the eye of many non-profit and government organizations as people with disabilities sometimes need accommodations and flexibility that owning your own business can provide. In addition, there are proven therapeutic benefits to working with animals – improving people’s lives in multiple ways!

To ensure I am providing the best care and service for my students and clients I am constantly continuing my education. One of the most impactful courses I’ve taken was the Trauma Informed Dog Practioner Program. This course connected the dog, the human, and the dog trainer and helps me consider the emotions and feelings of all involved and address them so we can all move forward together as a team on your training journey.

I can’t wait to work with you – if you have any questions about my services or how I train, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

https://nohassledogtraining.ca/
nohassledogtraining.ca
"Dog training, Loose Leash Walking, Puppy Training, Therapy Dog Training, Dog Walker Certification, Basic Obedience Dog Training, Leash Walking","image_1":"https://diib.com/featuredmembers/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/Logo-No-Hassle-Dog-Training.jpg
"image_2":false,"image_3":false
