To do so, we offer several services:
\nThe Equity Factors Evaluation is a program collectively designed by equity advocates with over 500 combined years of lived experience advocating for equitable practices. Written as an appreciative inquiry, this community created evaluation names what we love. The Equity Consortium contracts out the evaluation process to three equity advocates with no less than 30 years of combined experience. Considered a “Community Feedback Loop”, the process compassionately identifies any organization\u2019s unique and specific points of challenge and celebration around diversity\/equity\/inclusion using the voice of the community.
\nThe Equity Consortium also focuses on institutionalizing equity via our Standardized Equitable Complaint System which combines existing legal and restorative justice frameworks. We integrate a new system of justice that serves the space in between organization and agencies \/ court system. By doing so, we serve of course the person most affected, but also understanding and accepting the vital role of liability and confidentiality in such systems of accountability.
\nLastly, we stay connected to reality with our monthly Listening Circles, open to all. At our monthly circles, we invite dialogue around salient issues of equity that are not often considered such as: “Truth and Grace”, and “Your Intuition was Right”.
\nThe Equity Consortium was founded by those most affected by inequity as a grand experiment in rebalancing power to those with compassion. We adhere to the following organizing principles:<\/p>\n
1) Intersectional nature of identity and leadership of those most affected matters;
\n2) What we pay attention to grows (attributed to Octavia Butler);
\n3) Mutual benefit with every exchange; and
\n4) Meet systemic challenge with gracious, systemic response.<\/p>\n
We are organized as a Social Purpose Corporation in Washington State and follow these shared work ethics. All staff and contractors of The Equity Consortium are dedicated to:<\/p>\n
Cooperation and teamwork;
\nAuthority and responsibility;
\nFair and clear division of labor;
\nAdequate staffing and time allowance;
\nHonoring a healthy work\/life relationship;
\nMake room for creative conflict; and
