Our brand origin story is one of adversity and triumph, starting with our founder, a former graphic designer student who faced a life-altering traumatic brain injury. This unexpected disability led them to rely solely on government assistance, barely making ends meet.
\nDetermined to create a more independent and prosperous future, our founder recognized the need for an alternative income source. First a failed site for adult entertainment they used the domain to rebrand. And so, Cody Trade LLC was born – a platform that allowed them to showcase their original graphic designs and enhanced creations while not loosing the lifeline benefit that keeps them housed.
\nHowever, Cody Trade LLC is much more than just a means of supplementing income. It represents a bold and humorous spirit that challenges societal norms and aims to make people laugh. Each design carries the founder’s unique perspective, intending to shock, provoke, and entertain simultaneously.
\nAlthough Cody Trade is not a non-profit, it is an LLC owned and operated by CodyTrade LLC – an entity driven by the passion to pave a path of independence and prosperity. We firmly believe that individuals should not be limited to the government’s notion that $1,200 a month is enough to survive. By supporting Cody Trade, you are not only empowering the founder to thrive against all odds but also questioning and challenging this flawed system.
\nAt Cody Trade LLC, our brand identity revolves around the belief that humor has the power to drive societal change. We embrace dark humor, not to offend, but to initiate conversations and challenge oppressive systems that disadvantage marginalized communities, like ours. Our products are designed to reflect our belief in the power of humor to drive societal change.
\nOur founder’s upbringing in a rural area of northern California exposed them to the struggles of expressing their sexuality, love for punk rock, and unconventional outlook on life. Nevertheless, they refused to conform, cherishing their individuality.
\nThis rebellious spirit and love for all things outside of the norm have profoundly shaped the essence of Cody Trade. We celebrate uniqueness, boldness, and unconventionality. Through our products, we break free from the chains of societal expectations, creating a safe space for self-expression and evoking strong emotions and ask the question why do we expect people with less to do more for themselves.
\nWe understand that life can be challenging, which is why humor is paramount to us. Our aim is to bring joy, laughter, and even controversy into your life. Each Cody Trade product is designed to provoke thought and challenge the status quo. By wearing Cody Trade, you become part of a movement that seeks to dismantle oppressive systems and surpass the limitations imposed by society.
