kindestCup was created by Melanie Scholz, a breastfeeding mother with a PhD in biomechanics. Melanie felt that conventional breastfeeding products were too invasive and restrictive and that they did not adequately support her in her breastfeeding journey. She needed something more simple and reliable to collect breast milk and feed it to baby. kindestCup is a (r)evolutionary 3-in-1 breastfeeding cup, made from 100% food-grade silicone. It supports and protects breastfeeding in 3 natural and effective ways:

1) Hand expression

2) Catching let-down milk

3) Cup feeding

Hand expression:

kindestCup has the perfect shape to catch hand expressed milk.

Melanie found pumping annoying: she didn’t like how it feels and often didn’t get much milk. Besides, pumps are noisy, bulky and keeping them clean is a pain. So she often turned to hand expression to manage her milk supply. Is hand expression better than pumping? In a recent survey, 92% of lactation professionals said that hand expression is equally or more effective than pumping. You can use hand expression anytime and anywhere to keep yourself comfortable and protect your supply. It works when you’re stuck in traffic. It works when the power goes out. It works when baby falls asleep after nursing from one side and you have to deal with the other side in the middle of the night. To get the most out of hand expression, it is super helpful to have an ergonomic cup to catch milk dripping and spraying in different directions without having to awkwardly hunch over. kindestCup makes hand expression extra fun and easy.

Catching let-down milk:

kindestCup is also a hand-free milk catcher. Similar to silicone breast pumps, it uses suction to attach to the opposite side while nursing and it collects any milk that leaks from the breast. If you’re leaking when you breastfeed, you probably don’t want milk dripping down your shirt, so catching it is a no-brainer. kindestCup has an exceptionally gentle and secure latch. It can be used in any nursing position, even side-lying. The unique flange-less design fits any breast size and shape.

Cup feeding:

Many people use bottles to feed baby breast milk off the breast, but Melanie’s baby refused the bottle. Given what we know about how bottles can interfere with breastfeeding, that’s probably an appropriate response.

Melanie needed more and better options to feed her baby, on and off the breast. That’s how her and her partner discovered cup feeding, which is completely natural for babies. Even newborns can do it. kindestCup is soft and gently molds itself to baby’s lips. It makes it easy for baby to lap up milk and minimizes spills.

kindestCup is the ultimate minimalist breastfeeding product! It leverages breastfeeding skills that have been used for millions of years and are as old as breastfeeding itself.
