He was an honor graduate from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) in San Diego, California. After completing Marine Combat Training, he was sent to The Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.<\/p>\n
During his enlistment, Alex’s Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) was a 4611, Combat Illustrator. Combat Illustrators create two and three-dimensional artistic and illustrative products for use in a broad range of programs including, but not limited to, briefs, training, investigations, etc. Typical duties include layout, design, illustration, and artistic projects.<\/p>\n
He was honorably discharged in July 2003, only months after the invasion of Iraq. Alex went on to complete a Bachelor of Digital Media with Honors and a Master’s Degree in Journalism. Upon completing school he worked at a non-for-profit and managed a 3D Architectural Imaging Studio. The last 10 years have been spent working a variety of jobs in five U.S. federal government agencies.<\/p>\n
Alex is grateful for the lessons his military experience taught him and for the friendships, he formed while working for the U.S. Government. Many Veterans face challenges every day and struggle long after their service is over. It is up to all of us to support them and honor their sacrifices and ensure that they receive the care and resources they need to heal and thrive.<\/p>\n
His most challenging and devastating experience as a U.S. Veteran has been witnessing his younger brother Andrew Maxwell Sebby’s battle with a traumatic brain injury over the past 10 years that he suffered while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Despite Max\u2019s diagnosis, he continues to live his life thanks to the immense love and support of our family and friends. Max currently resides at a long-term care facility for brain injuries in Maryland.<\/p>\n
Alex has been continuously working towards building Veteran Quotes into a global newsletter with over a million subscribers. He sees this as the fundamental contribution he can make to permanently aid in the camaraderie between Active Duty Military, Veterans and non-combatants here in the United States of America.<\/p>\n
