HOW WE BEGAN: We Are Nook (formally Nook London) is an East London born retailer of factory, industrial and Mid-Century Modern inspired lighting and homeware. Founded in 2011, We Are Nook has evolved from a one woman band to a global reach with partners across Europe and Asia.

Proud home to the leading brands of vintage factory style lighting, Nostalgia Lights and its sub-brands NL: Reserve and NL: Industrial and newest addition; Kin. We Are Nook can be found across UK and Europe, and further afield in design, concept and homeware stores.

Although we are a London, UK born brand, we are a small yet global business, with partners distribution and sales partners in Japan, Hong Kong and across Europe.

HOW WE GREW
We began in 2011 as one woman in her living room, with a £350 website and a love for interior and industrial design; the product range consisted of two styles of decorative filament light bulb, packaged in hand designed (by Hattie) Kraft boxes.
One year on and although still in her living room, Hattie had grown the business to already include amongst her reputable client list some of the leading design retailers in the UK.
As interest in the products grew, so did the business leading to the move to the first business premises in neighbouring Bethnal Green; the existing business was then reformed as Nook London and introduced the newly reworked Nostalgia Lights brand; boasting a full and complete offering of vintage factory, industrial inspired lighting, geared specifically for the European retail market.

In a few years the business had grown from one woman at home to a bustling Nook team, offering two leading brands of vintage inspired lighting; comprised of light bulbs, pendant sets, lamp shades and components. Fast forward a few years, we now boast a Mid-Century modern brand in addition, Kin, have a sister company in Hong Kong and a distributor in Japan.

We believe in producing UK quality products, inspired by the practical and beautiful. Our brand is representative of quality design and craftsmanship. As our business has matured we’ve dually seen the urgent importance of climate responsibility as we do our part to reduce our carbon footprint.

The Nostalgia Lights brand is our incredibly high quality, accessible offering of vintage inspired lighting, produced predominantly in the UK, the brand is geared specifically towards offering customers the highest quality bespoke light fittings.

Each product individually packaged into beautifully designed recycled packaging, making it an individual, beautifully presented product. Nostalgia Lights consists of a full range of decorative filament light bulbs, a variety of ready made or bespoke made Pendant Sets, lamp shades, lighting accessories and fabric cable. Our LED extra long life bulbs mark our step into the energy efficient world.

NL: Reserve, NL: Industrial are the sub-brands of Nostalgia Lights and comprised of exclusively designed products by us. Keeping in the We Are Nook vein, both brands have the industrial vintage design running through its core and presents the fusion of true industrial inspired design with a modern twist. The result is an exclusive offering of high-end lighting products.

KIN, the newest addition to the We Are Nook family, takes a slight turn from our Nostalgia Lights style, with a Mid-Century Modern inspired range of lighting. The maiden collection consisting of the Esme and Raymond lights are a bright, fun, playful interior addition.

The Esme and Raymond table lamps are at the center of Kins maiden collection, with striking, playful yet elegant designs that would suit any interior.

The Esme table lamp has a sleek metal tubular frame that curves around to hold in place a glass shade; the chrome tubular frame of 70s Italian Post-Modern design mixed with playful vibrant colours makes these a centre piece item. Available in Pink, Orange and classic Black and White.

The lamps are made to UK and EU specification (can be used globally- please enquire for details), with 2m of round black fabric cable, two pin plug and three pin UK plug adapter.
Used with a small sized E27 bulb, to ensure the bulb doesn’t hang below the lamp shade.

The Raymond table lamp has a simple modern cone base and a contrasting, large playful mushroom shaped shade, topped with a small simple interchangeable button detail,
The Raymond lamps comes in three colours as standard; matte black, satin white and a muted matte green, with interchangeable button detail. The lamps are made to UK and EU specification (can be used globally), with 2m of round black fabric cable, two pin plug and three pin UK plug adapter.
These use a standard double simple E14 bulb,
