The Academy Virtual

We are a 3rd – 12th grade private global virtual school serving students with dyslexia, adhd/add, specific learning disabilities, reading challenges and non-traditional learners. It is our belief that every child has a GREATNESS to be discovered and cultivated. We focus on helping children understand that they each have a unique life path that leads them to their individual GREATNESS. These are our 5 Paths to GREATNESS –
Path 1) a structured literacy approach,
Path 2) interactive and multi-sensory teaching/learning,
Path 3) real-life learning,
Path 4) an entrepreneurship experience, and
Path 5) a socially-emotionally nurturing environment.

At the 3rd – 8th grade level we focus on improving our students’ reading abilities. Central to this effort is our structured literacy program utilizing the Wilson Reading program. All of our classes have low teacher:student ratios (no more than 1:4) so our students receive individualized attention and instruction based on their specific needs.

The AV Entrepreneurship High School is focused around entrepreneurship and all of the personal and professional skills that entrepreneurs must develop to become successful. Students are invovled in real-world experiences that help them reach their ultimate goal of creating a business/product that they can take to college to make better, or put into the marketplace to earn a living from after they graduate. Every student who successfully completes our program receives a high school diploma.

Our school was founded by the most amazing C student ever, Jimmy Arispe. Jimmy uses his overflowing ADD charateristics to his advantage as an educational entrepreneur and creator of unique child-centered schools. He believes schools should be exciting, motivating and fun places for kids to learn. He hires school leaders and teachers who love kids and shares in his philosophy about schools and kids. His schools embrace movement, discussion, kids being comfortable while learning, and all learning relating to real-life. He continuously reminds and encourages his “kids” to “never ever give up”, “be great at being YOU”, and to understand that they each have a GREATNESS.
