About teentrauma.com
Our mission is to educate, create awareness, and provide information and resources to teenage survivors of trauma resulting from physical, sexual, or emotional abuse or the sudden death of someone close to you.
In recent years, the growth of trafficked and enslaved teens as commercial sex workers has become a quiet epidemic in this country. Simultaneously, more and more teens experience trauma due to sexual abuse and other childhood trauma. More than two-thirds of children in the U.S. reported at least one traumatic experience by age 16.
About Our Founder
This website exists thanks to the generosity of Mr. John Baisden, JR, an author and co-founder of the Turning Winds Academic Institute. John lost his seventeen-year-old sister when he was a teenager. He felt powerless to help her as he watched his family struggle with her without success.
Mr. Baisden realized that now he could shine a light on the effects and causes of teen trauma. This is the origin of teentrauma.com.
