Swish Plastic

Swish Plastic is an online retailer and wholesaler of unbreakable plastic drinkware. The company was founded in 2010 with the goal of providing hospitality venues with a safer alternative to glass after a spate of glassing attacks, and since then has expanded to include online retail. Retail customers purchase Swish Plastic glasses for many purposes, including for use on boats, around pools, at picnics and other outdoor events, as well as to provide a safer alternative to glass for children and others at higher risk of glass breakage.

Swish Plastic’s glasses are made of tritan plastic – an unbreakable, dishwasher safe plastic that looks and feels like real glass. Tritan is similar to polycarbonate plastic, but has the additional benefits of being BPA-free, more scratch resistant and better able to withstand damage from long term dishwashing. The company’s glasses were initially made from polycarbonate, but they subsequently found that tritan plastic better suited their requirements. Tritan plastic glasses are significantly stronger than acrylic plastic glasses, which are known to break and shatter easily.

The range of Swish Plastic glasses includes medium tumblers, highball tumblers, stackable tumblers, wine glasses, stemless wine glasses, champagne flutes, martini glasses and shot glasses. Swish Plastic glasses have a solid construction and robust weight, making them feel more similar to real glass than lightweight disposable plastic.

The 22mL unbreakable shot glass is a recent addition to the Swish Plastic range, which has been custom made for bars and nightclubs. It addresses an issue identified by a number of Swish Plastic’s hospitality customers – frequent breakage and chipping of glass shot glasses which require regular replacements. Swish Plastic’s shot glasses do not chip or break and can be dishwashed, making them a perfect alternative. The glasses also have a thick heavy base, making them look and feel like glass shot glasses.

An important feature of the glasses for both retail and hospitality customers is the ability to dishwash them. Tritan glasses can withstand a harsh combination of heat, hydrolytic and chemical attack that is typical for commercial and residential dishwashers and are top-rack dishwasher safe.

Swish Plastic is based in Perth, Australia, although it operates entirely online and ships to all parts of Australia. The company has over a decade of experience in the plastic drinkware industry and has strong relationships with repeat retail and hospitality customers.
