I am an artist who has a need to create. I started Studio fifty-three as a platform to showcase and sell my original fine art and handcrafted giftware.
Main Services:
original artworks in different mediums and sizes, but predominately small encaustic wax and wire artworks and sculptures. I am at my happiest when I am in my studio creating. For over 20 years I have worked in different mediums including, encaustic wax, wire, mixed media, textiles, acrylic and pastels. Today I mainly work in encaustic wax and wire and have expanded into small sculptures. Originality is very important to me. I love to bring an artwork or product to market that is special and not mass produced. Each piece is carefully crafted, the process as important as the finished item. I like to think I have made a special connection to the buyer with a little piece of my own heart going to a new home.
I believe that one of the best ways to establish the personality of your home, is by decorating it with art. By buying original art you are buying unique one-of-a-kind pieces that has taken many hours, days and in a lot of my work, weeks to produce.
I am fortunate to have an expansive studio space to work in and usually have several projects on the go at any given time. This of course can seem quite chaotic, but I am energised by the creative process and am never lost for ideas. I am obsessed with my art practice and work in it everyday.
My award award winning art has been exhibited extensively and is sold through several galleries, online and shop front and Etsy. My commissioned pieces hang proudly in prominent residences and businesses here in Australia and abroad.
