Streetscape Homes began in 1999 as a custom builder in Saskatoon with a focus on specialized projects. Our very first homes were actually infills. These included a semi detached build on Elliot Street in Varsity View and another on 108th Street in Sutherland. Those early projects required a high level of technical problem solving, including building engineered soldier walls to protect neighboring foundations. Even then, we understood that building in an established neighborhood meant more than just pouring concrete; it meant managing the stability of the entire block. However, as the company grew, we moved into higher volume production building, completing hundreds of homes across the city over the next two decades. While we take pride in those neighborhoods and the families we served, the industry and our own perspectives changed significantly after 2020. During a period of personal and health challenges for our family, we took a necessary pause. That time of reflection made us realize that we wanted to return to our roots. We found that the true reward in construction comes from the intentionality and care put into the specific details of a single build, rather than the sheer volume of projects. This led to the Remastered version of Streetscape Homes. We made the deliberate decision to move away from mass production and return to our original focus as a boutique design build firm. Today, we manage a limited volume of projects to ensure we can provide a level of personal partnership that is often lost in larger companies. When a client builds with us, they work directly with the owners, Yvan LeBlanc and Rana Wright. We believe a home is a significant investment that deserves the full focus of the builder from the first design to the final walk through. Our boutique model is structured around five practical areas of expertise. First, we specialize in Custom Homes designed for how a family actually lives and uses their space. We believe that the design phase is where the most value is created, ensuring that every square foot has a purpose. Second, we have returned to our specialty in Infill Builds, revitalizing mature neighborhoods like Nutana, Varsity View, City Park, Buena Vista, and others. We navigate the complexities of modern zoning bylaws while respecting the character of established streets. Third, we provide Basement Development. We focus on creating functional spaces like guestrooms, family rooms, and home offices that add real value to a home. We understand the specific challenges of Saskatoon soil and ensure that every basement project is built with moisture protection and structural integrity in mind. Fourth, we are specialists in Legal Basement Suites. These are essential for the Saskatoon market, and we ensure they are built to full code compliance and high safety standards, providing homeowners with reliable income helpers. Finally, we offer Major Home Renovations for homeowners who love their location but need their house updated to modern standards. What truly sets Streetscape Homes apart is our commitment to professional workflows and Standard Operating Procedures. We are craft custom builders who rely on systems to ensure a predictable outcome. One of our core systems is our Good Neighbor Protocol. Building an infill can be disruptive to a street, so we implement strict procedures for site cleanliness, noise management, and communication with surrounding residents. We want to ensure that our clients move into their new homes with a positive relationship with their neighbors already in place. Furthermore, we operate with a Fixed Price Philosophy. In a world of escalating construction costs, we believe our clients deserve certainty. We spend more time in the pre construction and design phase to ensure that every cost is accounted for before we ever break ground. This eliminates the stress of unexpected budget increases and allows for a more collaborative relationship between the builder and the homeowner. Our experience in high volume building taught us how to be efficient, and we now apply those efficiencies to the world of custom boutique building. We have managed timelines for families with specific needs, such as accelerating a custom build to ensure a family was moved in before the arrival of a new baby. This type of schedule management is only possible when the builder is deeply involved in the day to day operations. We do not delegate the most important decisions to site supervisors who are spread across dozens of projects. We stay focused on the project at hand. Building in Saskatoon is personal for us. We live here, we raised our family here, and we want to look back at our work and know we contributed something meaningful to the city. This new chapter is about quality, direct communication, and a commitment to the work. We invite you to explore our process and see the difference that a focused boutique approach can make for your next project.
