The National Registry of Workers’ Compensation Specialists began in 2003 as a specialized workers’ compensation certification. The organizers felt that although there were several industry-related professional designations, some of which briefly taught about workers’ compensation very few focused entirely on this subject. Additionally, other professional designations were geared exclusively toward insurance producers as opposed to a general audience. Worker’s compensation are about insurance coverages. However, human resource managers, government employees, attorneys, and other professionals regularly interact with workers’ compensation issues and would benefit from additional training. The Registered Workers’ Compensation Specialist continuing education and professional certification program will benefit insurance industry professionals, risk managers, human resource personnel, and others who manage, administer, or sell workers’ compensation insurance. We are proud of the fact that many of our graduates come from a variety of industries outside of insurance and that the designation has a quality reputation among recruiting managers and business executives.
