Sigrun Design was formed in 2016 when Icelandic fashion and costume designer Sigrun Bjork Olafsdottir made her debut in the world of fashion. Being Icelandic, Norse mythology, history and culture as well as Nordic nature rank on top of her influences. Her ready-to-wear collections are aimed at modern Vikings and Valkyries – or Norsemen as she prefers to call them. Ranging from athleisurewear to formalwear, the designs cater for everyone who loves the Nordic culture and heritage. Prints are usually inspired by runestones or one or another of the runic alphabets and many designs seek connections with the animal kingdom.
The blog section offers insights into all things Nordic and often seek to provide valuable insight into the mysterious world of the Vikings, their culture and heritage.
