My name is Shannon I’m a web developer and tech virtual assistant based in Canberra, Australia.
My business started as a result of covid. I had been working in hospital administration for 10 years, quit my job in October 2019 to travel and of course the pandemic hit. Flew home to Australia in March 2020 and after about a month I had started up my business. It had always been a dream of mine to work online but I didn’t exactly know what. After starting out as a general VA I sort of fell into web development and haven’t looked back. I absolutely love it and I picked it up so quickly, I’m a natural you could say ;). I built my first website using a page builder but found myself limited so I started to learn coding (html, css and php) and within a couple of months I was able to build my current website with 90% coding.

I’m always expanding on my skills to better serve my clients by trying out new products, tools and platforms. Additional online learning and training, speaking with my peers to know what the current best practise is.
Although based in Canberra I serve clients all around the world, Australia, USA, UK, Switzerland, Canada, Sri Lanka etc. Anywhere there is internet!

My clients are in all different industries fire engineer, course creators, business coach, dog shelter, FB ad specialist, relocation agents, real estate managers. You name it!
The most common positive feedback I receive from clients is that I am very responsive and have great communication. Many of them have had negative experiences working with people in tech and the primary complaint has been poor communication. I’m great at communicating, maybe too great… my school reports always said I talked too much.
I have excellent working relationships with my clients and I pride myself on being able to deliver high quality work in a timely manner.

I specialise in building WordPress websites that incorporate UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) principles, SEO best practice and mobile responsiveness. Other services I offer are fixing hacked websites, speeding up slow websites, hosting and maintenance (updating plugins, themes, core, php removing spam, optimising website), website audits (site speed, on-site SEO, content, layout) as well as technical virtual assistant services. Virtual assistant tasks include email marketing, setting up systems and processes, setting up new tools and software, setting up emails and more.

A little about me, I’m an avid traveller having visited almost 70 countries. I’m animal obsessed and a lot of my travel is focused on wildlife and nature. At home I have my 3 cats who are my coworkers… crazy cat lady maybe?
When it is safe to travel again I will head off again travelling taking my laptop with me so I can continue working and seeing the world. Canberra will always be my home and base. Growing up I was a bit of a geek; chess club, maths olympiads, laptop program etc. I don’t fit the stereotype of a nerd/geek and growing up I was often labelled a blonde bimbo.

I’m only a new business but it’s just the beginning. I’ve got big plans ahead!
