We specialize in Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu, offering tailored programs for adults and kids that focus on fitness, self-defense, and mental well-being. As a USMC veteran and part of the LGBT community, I bring a unique perspective and inclusive leadership to our gym. We foster a diverse and supportive community where everyone can achieve their personal goals through MMA.
Ronin MMA was founded in 2015 by Pro MMA fighter Debbie Garcia and Felicia Bannister. After only being open for two months, Debbie suffered a brain aneurysm and passed away shortly after. She had reached her life’s goal of owning an MMA gym. The loss was tremendous, but still, I pushed forward.
My version of Ronin was born out of a deep desire to create a safe and inclusive space for everyone, especially women. My inspiration came from my personal experiences. Seeing many other gym with toxic leadership and dangerous places for women to train.
At Ronin, we provide a welcoming and secure environment for recreational students, military personnel, and veterans, including those with PTSD and physical limitations. I’m a USMC veteran and part of the LGBT community. I have the ability to help and connect with many different people.
My focus is on providing a supportive community where everyone can achieve their personal goals through MMA. For veterans with PTSD, like myself, our gym offers a fun and safe outlet to help manage anxiety, anger, depression, and substance abuse. Helping people is my passion, and I love seeing the positive impact our gym has on our members’ lives.
