At Raleigh Divorce Law Firm, we focus our practice exclusively on Family Law. Our team is led by two board certified specialists in Family Law and our founder and managing partner, Heather W Forshey is also a family financial mediator and certified as a parenting coordinator. We have expertise in many complex issues in high-asset divorces and in high-conflict custody cases where we work closely with our clients to develop a tailored strategy for their case while remaining committed to providing cost-effective quality representation.
Our attorneys have consistently been rated in the top 5% of practicing Family Law attorneys in North Carolina. The Super Lawyers award is especially meaningful as in order to receive this honor, the attorney must be nominated by at least two other attorneys and the list of nominees is voted on by their peers in the legal community. Heather Forshey was first nominated to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2014 and received this award each year through 2020. Super Lawyers Rising Stars is limited to the top 2.5% of attorneys in their first 10 years of practice or under the age of 40. In 2021, Heather transitioned to the main Super Lawyers list which captures the top 5% of Family Law attorneys. Our senior associates have also consistently received Rising Stars honors with Blake Larsen joining the list in 2020 and Jennifer Sinclair Simpkins first recognized in 2024. Jennifer Sinclar Simpkins also earned her NC State Bar board certification as a specialist in Family Law in 2024.
Our Firm has always been committed to giving back to our community through our volunteer efforts and our donations to local non-profit organizations. Our largest philanthropic efforts are focused on the Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem program where we have been the host sponsor of the annual Light the Way Gala each year and our team has been integral in the planning and fundraising for the organization. Our founder, Heather W Forshey, has served as the Secretary and President of the organization and our Firm Administrator, Nathan Forshey, has been the Gala chair, fundraising chair and is the current Treasurer for the organization. The Friends of Wake GAL is a volunteer run organization that supports children in the foster and kinship care system in our community. We have been consistent annual supporters of many other organizations including North State Bank’s Summer Salute that benefits Transitions Life Care as well as the Wake County Bar Awards which raises money for Legal Aid of North Carolina.
