In addition to our custom fly fishing products, we offer fly tying classes, bamboo fly rod building classes, and a natural fiber mercantile.
Our mantra is ‘wetting the line between tradition and nostalgia’; each of our products embraces the tradition of crafting bamboo fly rods and fine wood landing nets with the nostalgia of yesteryear learning to fly fish with past generations. There is no greater gift to our clients than being able to provide them with a heirloom quality product that bridges the fishing memories of the past with fishing memories to be made for generations to come.
We take great pride in the quality of our products and keeping the craft of bamboo fly rod building alive by offering our bamboo fly rod building classes to the public. Participants are able to spend a week in our workshop designing and crafting their own bamboo fly rod from a raw culm of bamboo to a fishable fly rod in six days. In addition to building their own fly rod, participants learn the history of bamboo fly fishing, enjoy all that Pagosa Springs, Colorado has to offer, and make memories for a lifetime as the newest members of the PJ’s community.
It is our mission to handcraft quality products while nurturing, growing, and supporting the fly fishing and small business community in Colorado. We do this by offering fly fishing educational opportunities, stocking our natural fiber mercantile with natural products from small businesses with similar values, and inviting the public into our workshop to observe our craft in action.
