Online Distribution: A Leader in New Zealand’s Supply Chain Online Distribution is one of New Zealand’s most established and respected third-party logistics (3PL) providers, serving businesses of every scale -from ambitious start-ups to globally recognised household brands. With operations spanning Auckland and Christchurch, and a heritage of family leadership, we are proud to deliver not only warehousing and logistics but also the confidence, reliability, and long-term partnerships our clients depend on to thrive in a competitive market. We see our role as more than simply storing and moving goods. We connect suppliers, brands, retailers, and customers with seamless flows of product and information. By combining advanced technology with deep human expertise, we help businesses scale faster, operate more sustainably, and meet ever-evolving customer expectations. What Sets Us Apart Family values in a corporate world While many logistics companies are owned by overseas investors or multinationals, Online Distribution has remained proudly New Zealand-owned since its founding. The company is led by the Evans family, with multiple generations actively involved in governance and direction. This family foundation creates an ethos of accountability, loyalty, and long-term thinking that is hard to replicate. We’re not interested in short-term profits at the expense of clients or staff. Our philosophy is built on trust, fairness, and community. Proven scale and flexibility We operate significant warehousing facilities across New Zealand’s two largest logistics hubs. Whether it’s fast-moving consumer goods, apparel, e-commerce, or highly regulated categories, we can design tailored solutions that fit. Importantly, our model offers the flexibility that modern businesses need: scale up during peak trading seasons, and scale down when demand softens. That balance has been a defining hallmark of Online Distribution for decades. Relentless focus on customer service Unlike some providers who treat logistics as a commodity, we see ourselves as an extension of each client’s brand. Every delivery, every carton, and every customer touch-point is a reflection of their reputation - and ours. We consistently measure performance with service-level targets, OTIF (on time in full) rates, and customer satisfaction (including NPS). Our record for reliability and professionalism is one of the reasons international brands choose us to represent them in New Zealand. Innovation without the gimmicks Technology is critical in logistics, but we don’t deploy systems for their own sake. We integrate with client platforms via APIs, support advanced carrier management, and continuously enhance our internal systems (such as ORBIT training, Mango safety, and Work-leap/Officevibe wellness tracking). Innovation only matters when it improves outcomes, whether that’s a faster pick-and-pack turnaround, more sustainable route planning, or simpler reporting for a client’s management team. Sustainability at our core We are acutely aware of New Zealand’s environmental challenges, particularly in a logistics sector where transport emissions are a major contributor. Online Distribution has invested in decarbonisation initiatives, from installing solar panels to exploring co-branding of more efficient delivery vans. We have an ESG-aligned framework that measures both our own footprint and the wellbeing of our people. Clients increasingly choose us not just for cost and capability, but because they know partnering with us helps them meet their own sustainability commitments. Interesting Facts About Our Business Community commitments A portion of our profits is earmarked for charitable and community initiatives every year. We believe success should be shared, and our contributions support local causes where our staff and clients live and work. **Health & Safety leadership:** With a workforce of over 200, our H&S systems are considered among the most robust in the sector. Our quarterly culture surveys consistently record high engagement, and in 2025 we achieved the rare milestone of *zero staff reporting that they felt unsafe at work*. **Resilience through disruption:** When COVID-19 disrupted global supply chains, many providers struggled. Online Distribution adapted quickly—introducing new safety protocols, stabilising essential freight flows, and helping clients pivot to online channels. Our resilience through that period has become a case study in how mid-sized, family-owned businesses can outperform global operators. **Award submissions:** Our service excellence has been formally recognised. For example, in 2025 we entered the 2degrees Auckland Business Awards under “Excellence in Customer Service Delivery,” highlighting achievements in NPS, employee engagement, and sustainability. **Growth trajectory:** We have set an ambitious target to double our turnover, supported by acquisition-readiness planning and strategic partnerships. This is not growth for its own sake, but growth to expand opportunities for staff, deliver more value to clients, and contribute more strongly to New Zealand’s economy. About Our Founder and Family Leadership Online Distribution’s roots lie in the Evans family, who identified the opportunity to bring a more service-driven, partnership-based approach to third-party logistics in New Zealand. The founder’s entrepreneurial spirit combined with a strong sense of integrity established the foundations of the business decades ago. Today, the family remains actively involved in the company, with Guy Evans serving as General Manager – Commercial and Greg Evans as CEO. This continuity of leadership gives Online Distribution its unique character. Decisions are not made in distant boardrooms; they’re made by people with their names and reputations tied to the company. That makes us sharper in execution, more transparent in communication, and deeply invested in every client relationship. What’s more, the family’s ambivalence about automatically placing future generations into the business ensures the leadership team is built on merit and professional expertise, not entitlement. This combination of family stewardship with professional management has proven to be a competitive advantage.
