KPI is the exclusive North American distributor of Auto Garage TBK, Avante Auto Service, Yoshida Seisakusho. KPI is the exclusive international distributor and agent for legendary Yokohama based Revolfe SA.

KPI traces its roots to the spring of 2019 when founder Will Knight created an Instagram account to sell vintage and collectible car parts, accessories, and apparel from the Japanese automotive tuning scene. Born in 1982, Mr. Knight has been fascinated with Japanese car culture since he was a teenager in the 1990s. This time period is frequently referred to as the “Golden Era” of the automobile industry due to the large number of well engineered yet well priced sports and sporty cars. Naturally, Mr. Knight chose to focus on this time period calling his account JDM Golden Era Accessories.

The humble Instagram account began to quickly gain followers and soon Knight was overwhelmed with requests for new and used parts not easily obtained outside of Japan. In early 2000 Knight’s hobby began to transition into a company he named Knight Premium Imports. At the same time, Knight struck up an unlikely friendship with Yu Fujimaki protege of famous engine tuner and founder of Revolfe SA, Isao Mizota.

Despite the ocean separating their countries and a massive language barrier, Mr. Fujimaki and Mr. Knight became fast friends speaking on the phone for hours at a time via an interpreter or exchanging messages on Facebook Messenger with the help of translation software.

In the fall of 2020, Mr. Fujimaki asked Mr. Knight if we would be interested in being the representative for Revolfe outside of Japan. Mr. Knight accepted the offer and officially began what is now know as Knight Premium Imports.

Mr. Knight credits this relationship as the keystone to his success and acceptance in Japan. “I cannot stress enough the importance of Revolfe’s trust in me. Their trust telegraphed to other shops that I was a person to be trusted and directly led to many other relationships in Japan.

In 2022 Knight formed KPI Global LLC. He also expanded KPI’s business from doing solely e-commerce to also offering consulting services overseeing the tuning of cars at Japanese tuning shops for those who live outside of Japan.
