Hunt-Tag LLC

Hunt-Tag is a small Oregon based company that started as a result of hunting regulation changes in the state of Oregon in 2019. Oregon is in the process of moving to an electronic tagging process (e-tagging) with the use of an app on your smartphone. This change required hunters supply their own tags to attach the proper information to all big game harvests in order to stay legal. Hunt-Tag designed a kit to aid hunters in this change. Now, Hunt-Tag is offering tagging kits for other states that use an electronic tagging system. Each tagging kit is designed with the specific information required by each state. The purpose of our Hunt-Tag kits is to simplify the process, so hunters can enjoy the success of their hunt without worrying about how to properly tag their harvests.

Hunt-Tag currently offers tagging kits specifically for Oregon, Oklahoma, Indiana, West Virginia, Ohio, and New Mexico. Part of the e-tagging/game check process is to attach specific information to your harvested game. The Hunt-Tag kit provides a means of attaching this information to a harvested animal in the field. The state specific tags are durable, weatherproof, self-laminating tags that will hold up to the elements so you can keep this required information with your trophy for the time it is in your possession. The tags have a built-on self-laminating flap that is attached to each tag. After writing on the tag in the field, you can just peel off the flap’s liner and seal in your writing – permanently. Each Hunt-Tag kit comes with the following:

3 – Info Cards (Hunt-Tags)

3 – Reusable Zip Ties

1 – Permanent Marker

1 – Cable Ring

1 – Safety Pin

The information required by each states fish and wildlife departments varies from state to state, which can be quite confusing if hunters hunt in multiple states. Hunt-Tag kits significantly simplify this by providing the exact information required by each state. The following information is an example of what is required for Oregon as set forth by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife:

NAME

D.O.B. (DATE OF BIRTH)

ODFW ID#

HARVEST DATE

CONFIRMATION#

While some states still continue to issue paper hunting tags many have changed the type of paper they are printing on. Traditionally, states would issue tags to each hunter printed on waterproof paper. In an effort to reduce cost many states now print their tags on standard paper, which can easily become illegible if they get wet. Many hunters are now receive their hunting tags and licenses printed on standard paper instead of having tags printed on the state provided waterproof paper. If you chose paper tagging as your method of tagging this year the Hunt-Tag Paper Tag Kit will help you keep your tags and licenses dry as well as provide a means of attaching your filled out tag to a harvested animal. Each Paper Tag Kit comes with the following:

3 – Waterproof Tag Bags

3 – Reusable Zip Ties

1 – Permanent Marker

1 – Cable Ring

1 – Safety Pin

Hunt-Tag also provides blog articles that go into greater depth of the requirements for tagging big game animals in each state. These blogs take you through the steps required to legally tag harvested game, so you will not be caught off guard if you get checked by a game warden in the field.
