We are Wayne Pickering and Heather Cooper, the founders of Hike + Bike the Sierras here in beautiful Ronda, Andalucía. Between us, we’ve explored every corner of the Serranía de Ronda and the surrounding natural parks. Wayne is a fully qualified British Cycling Level 2 Mountain Bike Leader, with a knack for finding quiet trails and hidden viewpoints that don’t appear on any tourist map. I (Heather) come from a background in marketing and hospitality, and I’m also British Cycling–trained for MTB rides. I lead many of our walks and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes so our guests can simply relax and enjoy their adventure.
From our base in Ronda, we offer both guided and self-guided experiences in hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, and e-biking. Whether you want a leisurely single-day outing or a multi-day holiday linking white villages, famous towns and mountain ranges, we’ll create a route that keeps you away from traffic and crowds, allowing you to immerse yourself in the scenery and local culture.
For self-guided guests, we design detailed topographical maps, downloadable GPX files and give acess to mobile phones apps for navigationthat which highlight unmarked pathways and include our own tips and notes from years of exploring. On our guided days, we provide minibus support to reach quieter trailheads and to be there if anyone needs a lift. Our rides and walks range from easy family-friendly routes—like the scenic Via Verde—to more technical MTB singletrack or challenging road climbs. For multi-day tours, we arrange accommodation and handle luggage transfers so you can focus on the journey itself.
Over the years, we’ve been recognised in regional tourism awards and have built a reputation we’re truly proud of. Our guests often tell us they love our local knowledge, well-planned routes, and warm, friendly approach. For us, it’s not just about getting from A to B—it’s about sharing the joy of discovering this incredible part of Spain and helping you create memories you’ll never forget.
