Watching her four year old daughter Ella learn violin with the Suzuki method, Helen had an “aha” moment. A moment that inspired the development of a proven methodology that has empowered millions of children to learn English as easily and naturally as their mother tongue. It also led to the creation of unique educational programmes focused on the preschool years, learning mathematics and more.
Helen Doron’s holistic methodology & rich content is built on a deep understanding of how children learn best. It supports developmental milestones, different learning styles, and uses stories, songs, rhymes, movement and all the senses to create a memorable and enriched learning experience.
Throughout the last 39 years, the innovative educational methodology has proven to be highly successful around the world.
The methodology starts with courses for babies as young as 3 months and accompanies them through kindergarten, primary school, and all the way through to teens.
Early stimulation, particularly from birth to seven years, is fundamental to developing the brain & accelerating development. Carefully structured activities help children acquire the skills they need at every stage of development.
In Helen Doron classes, children never sit still for long. The small classes are action-packed ̶full of stimulating activities, games & original songs that make learning joyful and effective. Children learn through experience and interaction.
Lessons teach children key values about caring for the people, animals & world around them. The colourful characters featured in the original stories go on adventures, tackle challenges and learn important life lessons.
At Helen Doron, every child has the opportunity to develop at their own pace, getting the personal attention they deserve. And, most of all, they get the positive reinforcement that helps them thrive and build self-esteem.
Understanding that language needs to be acquired through constant exposure, the way children experience their mother tongue, the methodology incorporates a wide variety of activities to ensure children absorb the language on a daily basis. In class, they are introduced to new concepts and vocabulary. At home, students enjoy animated stories, catchy songs & games, reinforcing what they learned in class. A core aspect is repeated hearing, as the child hears songs with key vocabulary being played in the background and can sing along and act out the movements if they wish.
Children continue learning English every day – without realizing they are learning!
Nowadays, it’s a digital world and Helen Doron makes careful use of technology to enhance the learning experience. The unique Helen Doron apps enable children to practice English anywhere, anytime. The wide variety of games enable children to enjoy play while reinforcing the new vocabulary learned, as well as sharpening other key skills.
