Gruppo Gamma Pte Ltd

Gruppo Gamma is an independent watch brand based in Singapore. Established in 2013 with the aspiration to build the ultimate tool watch, the brand represents the best of non-mainstream and has amassed a cult following internationally, emerging as one of the most desirable brands for people in the know.

In a short span of time, the brand has grown into one that’s appreciated by its customers. Within months of the brand’s creation, its customers created an online owners’ club and today, this community comprises customers, supporters and dealers from all over the world.

Gruppo Gamma delivers timepieces with soul, offering watch enthusiasts an alternative to mainstream brands that have become too predictable or unexciting over the years. Some brands have, in recent years, been repeating the same designs over and over and setting prices that increasingly don’t make sense, all in the name of heritage. On a different level, some brands have also resorted to using fabricated stories, glossy advertising and swanky shop fronts to attract customers.

Good design can and should evolve over time, and it is possible to build fine timepieces without all the corporate overheads and fanciful stories. Gruppo Gamma has done just that; it modernises and redefines the concept of tool watches, drawing inspiration from historic timepieces. It keeps production volume low and quality high, delivers excellent aftersales service and stays engaged with customers all the time.

Designed in Singapore and built by manufacturing partners of high-end timepieces, Gruppo Gamma uses only the best components and materials. The timepieces are powered by mechanical movements from ETA, the largest Swiss movement manufacturer in the world. Today, access to ETA movements by independent brands is very limited if at all possible, but Gruppo Gamma is able to acquire these movements in small quantities and back it up with strong technical expertise.

Leather played a key role in the evolution of pocket watches to wrist watches, when timepieces were first worn on the wrist of military personnel by means of leather straps. Gruppo Gamma therefore pays attention to the design and quality of its leather straps, and uses only premium top grain cowhide from reputable tanneries.

The watch crystal is essential in protecting the watch face, and Gruppo Gamma uses crystals made of corundum, also known as sapphire. Compared to mineral glass and acrylic, costs are much higher for sapphire, which has a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale of 1 to 10 and is surpassed in hardness only by diamond. The sapphire crystals are treated with anti-reflective coating on the underside, for good visibility.

To also ensure unparalleled visibility in the dark, the hands and indices of Gruppo Gamma’s timepiece are filled with Swiss Super-LumiNova of the highest grade.

The oldest alloy known to mankind, bronze is widely associated with the marine environment, and in recent years bronze has become a popular material for higher-end timepieces. Because of Gruppo Gamma’s reputation for tool watches, it’s one of the most prolific independent brands for bronze watches. Each bronze case is milled from a solid block of phosphor bronze and will develop a unique patina based on the environment it’s exposed to, making it truly yours. The patina can also be removed as and when desired.

Gruppo Gamma is also known for being a forerunner in the design and rollout of watches with aged steel finish, making it the go-to brand for those seeking the ultimate tool watch.

The brand is equipped with a showroom, a technical service arm and a network of reputable authorised dealers worldwide.
