Fusion Food Haus was founded by husband and wife, Irma Huth and Mikel Huth in 2020. Located in Wellington, New Zealand, it is now fully functioning as an online-only local business. Navigating the current trends, the business can be found on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Pintrest & working to increase its presence on Youtube.
Main Services:
Niche European Grocery, Niche Asian Grocery, Meals & Platters, Cooking Workshops
Fusion Food Haus started as a niche grocery store, stocking imported goods from Germany & Asia. The idea was driven by shortage of Asian ingredients in the area where the couple lived at the time; Kapiti Coast. The family moved to enjoy a change of lifestyle away from corporate life. In building the brand, the inspiration for a ‘fusion’ theme was apt as it truely represented the family; Irma is from Singapore while Mikel, from Germany.
A variety of shelf-stable pantry essentials from European brands like RUF, Dr Oetkers, Dr Schaer, Kunella, Aurora, Loewensenf, Gut Und Gunstig can be found alongside Asian brands like Healthy Boy, Suree, Double Ring, Habhals, Babas, Brahims, Dollee, Teans & Datu Puti amongst many more. The business serves customers throughout the country; both North Island and South Island.
More recently, the business expanded to offer Meals & Platters. As a certified food provider, Fusion Food Haus has partnered with LunchOnline to provide school lunches as well as partnering up with platforms like Ubereats. From 2021 -2023, the business experimented with a brick & mortar Cafe running out of Tawa but found that the online business model was the best in the current economic climate. Moving forward, the business will look to import from other parts of Europe. Additionally, Fusion Food Haus will look to further develop certain food products under its own brand name. It will also resume workshops.
