Frugal Legal Services was founded by Lawren D. Burroughs in 2013 when Virginia trial courts began accepting electronic filings and is a dba for Burroughs Law Office, P.C. (founded 2006). We offer online legal solutions for Virginia residents and servicemembers seeking help through some of life’s most trying circumstances for a faction of the cost charged by traditional family law practices. We are able to accomplish this with secure cloud-based tools and systems intended to expedite the legal processes involved in typically expensive, often out-of-reach, attorney representation. Our clients receive competent legal representation by a licensed Virginia family law attorney from start to finish. We currently offer online uncontested divorces, separation agreements, and step-parent adoptions.

Frugal Legal Services offers options for all uncontested family law matters, including spousal support, child support, child custody, child parenting time, and equitable distribution. We draft QDROs and post-decree modification/clarification legal documents as well.

Our pro bono efforts are presently focused on providing support for the LGBTQ+ community at large, and the transgender population in Virginia specifically. We offer assistance with name and gender marker changes for anyone in the transgender community, regardless of financial means. We offer affordable virtual consultations for our clients via Zoom during and after ordinary office hours – including weeknights and weekends.
