FABCYCLE

Canada, Vancouver

FABCYCLE is more than just a fabric store—it’s a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to reducing textile waste and supporting a circular economy in the fashion and sewing industries. Based in Vancouver, FABCYCLE partners with local apparel manufacturers to collect, sort, and redistribute textile waste, diverting it from landfills and making it accessible to makers, designers, and sewists at affordable prices.

FABCYCLE

By doing so, we provide a sustainable alternative to traditional fabric sourcing while helping businesses and individuals adopt more eco-friendly practices.

Unlike conventional fabric retailers that rely on newly produced textiles, FABCYCLE exclusively focuses on salvaging surplus, deadstock, and discarded fabrics. These materials often include high-quality remnants, rolls of fabric, and designer offcuts that would otherwise go to waste. This approach not only prevents waste but also enables makers to access unique, high-quality textiles at lower prices than traditional suppliers. Every purchase from FABCYCLE supports waste reduction and contributes to a more sustainable textile industry.

Our Story & Founder
FABCYCLE was founded by Irina McKenzie, an entrepreneur passionate about sustainability, fashion, and innovation. Recognizing the enormous waste generated by the fashion industry, she sought to create a solution that benefits both businesses and makers. Her vision was to bridge the gap between manufacturers struggling with textile waste and the growing community of sewists, artists, and designers looking for sustainable materials.

Under Irina’s leadership, FABCYCLE has grown into a hub for sustainable making. It has expanded beyond just fabric resale, incorporating education, community-building, and advocacy for sustainable fashion. Through workshops, partnerships, and collaborations, FABCYCLE is actively reshaping how people think about textile waste—turning it from a problem into an opportunity.
