Charlie and Dan Wilson-Vaughan, business and life partners, started protein smoothie & cold-pressed juice business, EXALT, during the pandemic.
Born out of a desire to aid individuals constantly on the go, from busy mums, to overworked millennials, to athletes, these smoothies boast premium ingredients, with a truly high protein level.
“Unlike other ‘high protein’ smoothies on the market, our drinks are comparable with a proper meal,” reveals Charlie, who came up with the idea for EXALT whilst travelling to Yorkshire to see Dan’s mum.
“We’d always stop off at services on the way to grab something to eat. Aside from your KFC or McDonald’s, there isn’t a huge choice of nutritious food – unless you want a makeshift chicken salad from M&S! We started thinking about creating a product that would be perfect for people who wanted to get something healthy on the go.”
EXALT’s juices are all pressurised to naturally extend the shelf life to at least two weeks – an industry first making them stand out from competitors.
Charlie adds: “No-one else has managed to make a fresh ready-to-drink protein smoothie with an extended shelf-life. Our range has twice the protein vs other fresh “protein” drinks. They are also usually pasteurised/heat-treated whereas we cold press ours to naturally lock in all the nutrients without any preservatives or additives.”
With a clear mission and a strong focus on sustainability from the outset, EXALT appeals to the conscious consumer, who wants to keep both their bodies and the planet ‘clean’.
“All brands need to be accountable for what they do. If you’re selling something, it’s going to have an impact on the environment so it’s about what you can do to reduce these effects. We work with a leading sustainability consultancy to make sure that everything we do is mindful of the environment and communities in which we operate.
