Our mission is simple but powerful: to empower artisans through ethical and sustainable sourcing, provide eco-friendly alternatives to plastic, and offer you, our customers, unique, handcrafted products that have a story behind them. Each item we offer reflects the rich heritage and craftsmanship passed down through generations, and we take pride in ensuring that these artisans receive fair wages and sustainable livelihoods.

We work directly with artisans—both independent makers and co-operatives—across India and beyond. These skilled craftspeople use sustainable materials like wood, recycled paper, and upcycled materials, ensuring that their crafts are not only beautiful but also kind to the planet. Our standout product line features organic wooden toys coloured with natural, plant-based dyes, making them completely free from harmful chemicals and plastics. These toys are not just playthings—they are symbols of a commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship. Beyond toys, our range also includes home décor, personal accessories, and Christmas ornaments, each handcrafted with the same dedication to quality and environmental consciousness.

But our impact doesn’t stop there. We are passionate about creating a positive difference in every part of our business. This is why we’ve partnered with Mail Out, a UK-based organisation that offers warehousing and fulfilment services, to provide employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. Through this collaboration, we ensure that every step of our operation reflects the values of inclusivity and empowerment that we hold dear.

We’re proud members of the BAFTS Fair Trade Network UK, and our efforts have been recognised with the People & Planet First certificate by the Social Enterprise World Forum. These affiliations reflect our dedication to maintaining the highest standards of ethical trade and sustainability in everything we do.

Our founder, Arshad, was inspired by a desire to help marginalized artisan communities when he started Ethiqana. In 2022, he was honoured in the Social Entrepreneur Index for his work in bringing these nearly extinct crafts to the global stage, helping both artisans and consumers alike to rediscover the beauty of handmade products. Arshad’s vision drives everything we do at Ethiqana, and we continue to push boundaries in supporting the artisans we work with.

We also contribute to a wider impact through our partnership with B1G1 (Buy1Give1), which ensures that with every purchase, we’re able to contribute to causes aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Whether it’s planting trees to offset our carbon footprint or supporting communities in need, we are committed to making a difference that goes far beyond the products we sell.
