It is becoming more common to find Easy Read information on government websites, in banking, voting, healthcare and many other information platforms. This helps to make sure that people with intellectual and learning disabilities can access information and services.
What is Plain language?
Plain language is a powerful tool for communicating clearly and effectively. It is a writing style that is clear and easy to understand. Content is written to a Year 7 reading level, which ensures that most readers can access and understand it. The structure and style are edited to increase access for a wide range of readers. It is ideal for websites, documents, forms, and any other information intended for a public audience.
What is useability testing?
Usability testing makes sure that users with disabilities and diversity are included in evaluating the readability and useability of content.
