Daphne Lorna: Artisan Jewelry Handmade in the Heart of Montana Daphne Lorna is a women-owned artisan jewelry brand born from the creative partnership of two sisters — Daphne Lorna Evans and Cindy Evans McCoy. What began as a shared love of design, craft, and the natural world has grown into a thriving jewelry studio based in Milltown, Montana, where every piece is conceived, etched, and finished by hand. The sisters grew up in Montreal, Canada, in a household where creativity was a way of life. Their mother was an avid bead collector, and surrounded by their two other sisters, fashion and design were always central to the family’s identity. That early immersion in craft and aesthetics laid the foundation for what would eventually become Daphne Lorna — a jewelry line that is as much about story and place as it is about beauty. Today, Daphne lives in the mountains of Montana and runs production out of the Bonner studio, while Cindy lives in Atlanta and focuses on design, marketing, and the business side of the brand. Together they bring complementary sensibilities to everything they make: Daphne’s deep connection to the outdoors, wildlife, and the rugged landscapes of the American West infuses the line with an authentic mountain-girl femininity, while Cindy’s style leans toward punchy, vibrant energy inspired by the lush American South and the coastlines of the East. The result is a collection that feels simultaneously wild and refined — jewelry that is simple yet distinctive, wearable yet meaningful. A Unique Process — Artisan Etching in Milltown, Montana What truly sets Daphne Lorna apart is the proprietary design and acid-free etching process used to create every piece. Starting with inspiration, a sketchpad and raw brass, the team etches intricate designs — from the delicate petals of a Wild Lupine to the bold silhouette of a grizzly bear — directly into the metal. Each piece is then finished in either a matte silver (achieved through electroplating with 500 microinches of sterling silver) or an antique brass finish. The result is jewelry that carries the texture and soul of handmade craft, while maintaining the clean lines and wearability of contemporary design. Every piece is nickel-free, lead-free, and cadmium-free — safe for sensitive skin and built to last. Inspired by the Wild Places of the American West The landscapes, wildlife, and wildflowers of Montana and the Pacific Northwest are the beating heart of the Daphne Lorna collection. The brand’s designs celebrate the places and creatures that make the American West so extraordinary — from the iconic peaks of the Grand Tetons and the breathtaking Going-to-the-Sun Road through Glacier National Park, to the wildflowers that carpet Montana’s hillsides each spring: Indian Paintbrush, Wild Lupine, Balsamroot, and the Bitterroot — Montana’s own state flower. Wildlife is equally central to the brand’s identity. The bear collection alone is one of the most beloved in the lineup, featuring mama bears and cubs in a variety of styles — cuffs, necklaces, rings, and earrings — each one a tribute to the strength, family bonds, and wild spirit of Montana’s grizzlies. The fishing collection captures the quiet joy of rivers and fly fishing, with trout and salmon designs that have earned loyal fans among anglers and outdoor lovers alike. The bison and buffalo pieces speak to the wide-open grasslands of the West, while the wildflower collection — spanning lupine, paintbrush, balsamroot, bitterroot, and juniper — brings the botanical beauty of the Rocky Mountains to everyday wear. Beyond the natural world, Daphne Lorna also celebrates the spirit of the West through its cowgirl and western collection, featuring the iconic Steamboat bucking bronco, wild horses, cowgirl riders, and horseshoe designs that speak to the freedom and grit of ranch and rodeo
