The diagnosis of Cancer, even if curable, changes our life. We are faced with making decisions with no guaranteed outcomes. We enter a world of medical terms, challenging procedures and endurance. Our emotions run rampant as we steel ourselves to stay brave while at the same time trying not to think of worse possible outcomes. Medical teams are formed to support our physical health in this regard but very little is done to maintain our emotional health.
California Health Psychology PC focusses on supporting patients and their families as they experience the emotional distress of cancer. Dr. Shibani Ray-Mazumder , is a health psychologist with training and experience in both outpatient as well as inpatient settings . She provides evidence based treatment for patients with emotional distress brought on by the challenges of cancer. She collaborates with both patient and the medical team to provide an integrated approach towards patient care.
