Calath

Fantastic self catering house on the beautiful Isle of Skye in Scotland. It was designed by the acclaimed architects Dualchas and was completed in 2003. The house has three bedrooms and can sleep up seven guests with two king size beds, two single beds and a fold away bed.

The views and outlook from the house are amongst the best on the island with the whole of the Black Cuillin mountain range visible from the lounge window. There are also uninterrupted views of Loch Harport and beyond to the Red Cuillins. The huge amounts of glazing in the house are designed to capture these spectacular views. From the house if is sometimes possible to see dolphins in the loch or Sea or Golden eagles soaring above.

The house is very conveniently situated for access to several of the extremely popular areas on Skye with the “Fairy Pools” around nine miles away and the world famous Talisker Distillery a fifteen minute walk away. Also within walking distance is the village of Carbost with a local shop, lovely quaint pub, post office and medical centre. Not forgetting the Oyster Shed where fresh seafood can be purchased, this is a five minute walk from the house.

There are many local walks which can be as challenging as you like, ranging from a stroll along the beach at Talisker or Glenbrittle to a serious mountain expedition to conquer one of the many peaks on the Cuillin ridge.

The towns of Portree and Broadford are both nineteen miles away where banks, supermarkets and other local shops can be found.

All in all Calath is a superb base for exploring the island and taking in the beauty of the surroundings.
