My self-publishing journey began when my dog, Dexter, died unexpectedly in 2021.

He was only 9 years old and I was not prepared for his death. Dexter was my agility partner, the love of my life. I rescued him when he was a puppy. He was a handsome mix of cattle dog and border collie, incredibly smart, loving and willing to please. We had a wonderful agility career which was suddenly halted by his death. I wanted to do something special so I made and self-published a book called “Dogs Love”. I had so much trouble getting the format correct but it was accepted by Amazon KDP and my friends bought it.
Since then, I have continued to self-publish coloring books with KDP and just recently started self-publishing with Barnes and Noble. I love creating coloring book using creative commons. I manipulate the images so it looks pleasing.
I had the idea to start adding chapters into the coloring books so I could combine various artworks together in one book. My “Gnomes and Trolls” coloring book and “Beautiful Things” coloring books are good examples.
I have one book called “Spiritual Awakening a Workbook for Beginners” which has taken off quite well. It was a book completely written by me and based off my experiences. That one small 39-page book is my best-selling book on Amazon.
I have found someone who makes beautiful covers so it has really upped the quality of my coloring books.
I also have a new Printify store on my website so I can turn those covers and AI art into canvas prints and puzzles. I’m hoping I can eventually quit my 9-5 and be a full-time coloring book creator and online seller.
