Owner and founder Mark Faldmo is a third-generation travel professional whose passion for exploration spans decades. It all started in 1957, when Mark’s grandfather traveled to Hawaiʻi to help build the campus at what is now BYU-Hawaiʻi in Lā‘ie. His father remembers setting sail from San Francisco to Honolulu on the SS Lauraline for his 6ᵗʰ birthday — a journey that ignited a lifelong love of travel. Growing up in that environment — mowing lawns, sorting brochures, delivering paper airline tickets — Mark absorbed the business from the ground up. He traveled widely (including 150+ cruises, expeditions to Petra, the Amazon, the South Pacific, Scandinavia and more) before founding Blue Planet Vacations, carrying forward the family tradition with a modern, client-centric twist.
