What sets me apart as a B2B tech copywriter? Good question.

I’m Ben, a freelance copywriter and content marketing strategist based in the UK. I help technology brands, founders and agencies find the words that make people give a damn about what they’re offering.

I don’t do dull. I’m fun to work with, even if I do ask awkward-but-necessary questions. By doing so, I turn floaty statements along the lines of “we’re disrupting the SaaS space” into meaningful messages like “we save your team 10 hours per week”.

Marketing, especially tech marketing, is full of vague nonsense, tired buzzwords, specs and cold jargon. I cut through all that.

I call it breaking down the beige walls of boring B2B.

I write clear, characterful copy for growing B2B brands.
My specialism is helping businesses with clever products and complex propositions sound human. Because buyers don’t fall in love with “all-in-one platforms” or “scalable enterprise solutions”, they connect with clarity, empathy and personality. They want to know what problem you solve and what’s in it for them.

Most of my clients are in tech, from SaaS tools and data platforms to mega hardware vendors and service-based B2B brands. If you’ve got a complex product, a unique audience or just struggle to explain your offer simply, we’ll probably get on well.

I write:
• Website copy (homepages, about pages, product and service pages)
• Landing pages (product launches, campaigns and conversions)
• Content marketing (blogs, explainers and thought leadership)
• Email copy (onboarding sequences, nurture flows and sales emails)
• Brand messaging (positioning, tone of voice and voice of customer research)

Whether you need a complete website rewrite, a lead-generating landing page or regular content marketing support, I can help you write it better and faster than your internal team has time for.

Why not just hire a B2B content marketing agency?

Good question. And maybe you should if you’ve got money to burn and want a small army working on your project.

Or, you could get one experienced writer for a fraction of the price who’s as committed to your success as you are. Someone who gets your space, your business and those you’re targeting.

Your emails won’t bounce around an account team. Your brief won’t be thrown into a game of Chinese Whispers among project managers and creatives. You won’t have to explain your product five times. And you won’t get bland, one-size-fits-all copy that could’ve been written for any other company in your space.

Instead, you’ll work directly with me, a tech copywriter in the UK with over two decades of experience writing words that convert.

My clients like that I get tech. That I don’t need hand-holding. That I can jump in, make sense of their product, and help them sound like humans, not robots.
They stick around because I make their lives easier. I meet deadlines, I don’t miss the point, and I tell them when something could be better.

I ask smart questions, think deeply about your brand and obsess over your target audience so I can write words that make a real difference. Because, when all is said and done, it’s about understanding what problems people have, what they want and also what they mean.

Think about how you landed on this page. Were you looking for a tech writer? Did you Google “content specialist”? You might even have searched for a “copy writing agency”. Yes, it should be “copywriting”, but almost a thousand people a month use that term. Would you turn down that many potential site visitors?

And that kinda’ illustrates my point…

Not all buyers act the same, search the same or want the same things, no matter how many fictional personas you create.

Ultimately, it’s one thing to think you know what an audience is looking for and quite another to actually know.

That’s where I aim to be when I sit down to write your copy. I write for your audience, not just the brief.

I use voice of customer insights to write words that actually mirror what your audience thinks, feels and says. No guessing. No generic value props. Just straight-talking messaging that lands.

Clients often bring me in when:
• They’re launching a new B2B product and need to explain it clearly
• Their website isn’t converting and they don’t know why
• Their content team is swamped and needs a safe pair of freelance hands
• Their brand is evolving and their messaging hasn’t caught up
• They’re rebuilding their site and need a pro to write or rewrite the lot

If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

Where did all this tech content stuff come from?
I started out as a technology journalist before moving into marketing as a freelancer. I run my own copywriting business and have held leadership roles at leading B2B agencies. Today, I write for early-stage founders with no marketing team, VC-backed scaleups with 50-person content departments and giant household names like Logitech, Lenovo and Microsoft.

What do my clients say?

Here’s how one put it: “Ben’s the first copywriter we’ve worked with who actually understood what we do. We didn’t have to rewrite anything. He just nailed it.”

That’s the bar I aim for on every project: minimal faff, maximum clarity and messaging that actually works.

Others say I “get it” faster than most. Not just their product, but their market and audience too. I know when someone says they want “a landing page”, what they often mean is “we don’t know how to explain this yet.” I know that a search for “copy writing agency” might really mean they’re looking for a freelance content specialist who understands B2B, startup pressure and why salespeople hate long intros.

That’s the job – decoding intent, clarifying meaning and turning all of that into copy that connects.

Why do I do this?
Because so much B2B marketing is bland, bloated and instantly forgettable. You don’t want that and neither do your customers.

Behind every product is a smart team, a strong story and a problem worth solving. I write to uncover that story and tell it well. To help you sound like you, not just another platform in the space. And to connect with the people who are already looking for what you offer…

…even if they search for it using the wrong words.

TL;DR

I’m your guy if you’re looking for:

• A freelance B2B copywriter with real tech experience
• Someone who can write SEO-friendly website copy that actually converts
• A thoughtful, strategic writer who delivers clean, client-ready drafts
• Support with content marketing for startups, SaaS platforms or service businesses
• Messaging and voice of customer research that leads to clearer, sharper copy
