I am an independent will writer and estate planner based in Newcastle upon Tyne. I have a masters degree in law from Northumbria University. I started my business because I want to make estate planning affordable and accessible to everyone. This is because I believe everyone should as a minimum have a will in place but there is so much more involved with estate planning and unfortunately all the companies offering free wills do not cover half of what is needed. I decided to make sure everyone has the opportunity to access estate planning at a fair price. I would like to see the 57% of adults without a valid will in place get the best service and advice they deserve at an affordable price. Key reasons people need a will are: 1. Parents should have a will to name a guardian for their children 2. Home owners should have a willto ensure they can pass the property on as they wish and get advice about how to best protect it. 3. Everyone should have a say on how their estate is distributed no matter the size of it. 4. Intestacy rules are archaic and out of date for modern families and lifestyles. Many people are not covered such as unmarried partners and step-children. Please get a will put in place as soon as possible font put it off any sooner.
