What began in 1993 as a high school passion project by founder Eric Hoshooley has grown into one of the region’s most exciting and versatile event rental companies. Originally launched as a DJ service for school dances, weddings, and corporate functions, ThunderStorm has evolved into a one-stop shop for unforgettable event experiences.
Over the years, we’ve expanded our offerings to include all the fun extras your event needs — from popcorn, cotton candy, and slushie machines to soft serve ice cream stations and more.
We’ve also added unique experiences like outdoor movie nights, refreshing misting tents, and our DrinkBox mobile beverage trailer—equipped with cold storage, a sound system, TVs, and the ability to serve pop, water, and draft beer.
Looking to bring some retro fun to your event? We rent pinball and arcade machines, which are always a hit at corporate events and staff parties. They bring people together and create a fun, relaxed atmosphere for everyone.
Our newest adventure is ThunderStorm Snacks—our very own popcorn factory! We craft over 10 savory flavours, 10 candy-coated varieties, our famous caramel corn, and a delicious maple syrup popcorn made with local Elmira syrup. We also offer custom snack bags, including personalized colours, flavours, and in-house printed labels. Want to wow your guests? Try a popcorn bar where everyone can mix and match their own custom blends.
