Save The Bees USA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to protecting and preserving bee populations through education, advocacy, and conservation initiatives. Founded with a mission to safeguard pollinators, we focus on empowering communities with knowledge and actionable solutions to combat the alarming decline of bees and their habitats.

What sets us apart is our strong commitment to education. We believe that awareness is the foundation of lasting change, which is why we partner with schools, educators, and local communities to teach students about the importance of pollinators in maintaining biodiversity, food security, and healthy ecosystems. Our Pollinator Health Education Program reaches students across the U.S., providing hands-on learning experiences with beekeepers, interactive observation hives, and classroom curriculum that aligns with national science standards.
Beyond education, Save The Bees USA works on habitat restoration, encouraging individuals, businesses, and municipalities to create bee-friendly environments through sustainable gardening, pesticide-free landscapes, and the construction of pollinator habitats such as bumblebee boxes and wildflower meadows. We advocate for policy changes at local and national levels, working with lawmakers to protect native bee species and promote responsible agricultural practices.
Our founder, James Farrell, established Save The Bees USA after recognizing the urgent need for a national initiative focused on both education and conservation. Unlike many organizations that primarily focus on honeybee populations, our work extends to native pollinators, including bumblebees, mason bees, and solitary bee species, which are often overlooked despite their critical role in ecosystems.
One of our most innovative programs is the Observation Hive in Schools Initiative, which provides schools with fully functional, enclosed observation hives to bring bee education to life in a safe and interactive way. This initiative allows students to observe the behavior of bees, understand their lifecycle, and appreciate their role in pollination firsthand.
